Pandemic Hidden Treasure

You can find treasure anywhere if you’re looking.

Here’s what I’ve discovered since our world turned upside down last week:

I met a new neighbor.

I grew a new reverence during my prayer over daily meals.

I discovered that nature is unaffected by human trouble, she sings on anyway.

I watched enemies compliment each other.

I contemplated what essentials are. Like, really essential.

I was given the opportunity to place myself and the world in the hand of its creator. In a new way.

I realized how much I (the introvert) love being with friends.

I discovered how beautiful it is to hug or shake hands. It’s not a mere ritual.

I watched my country step up to be the people we’ve always said we were.

I’ve seen, heard of and read about unparalleled acts of kindness and generosity.

Thanks, pandemic. It almost feels like Christmas.
