I’m up at dawn thinking about writing, or should I say writing in my head.
Nearly a day passes without my reading something encouraging on twitter from the writing community, properly identified on the platform as #writingcommunity.
Given that you can find on any social media plenty of vulgar, disturbing, provoking and downright fear-mongering advertisement, this is refreshing.
As the pace of my often-too-packed life carries me on, much like the immediate stream of tweets, I find motivation in simple words of encouragement. They slow me down to the moment at hand. I breathe, and am thankful.
The result is that I feel free to unleash my pent up thoughts and stories in an atmosphere of acceptance. Sometimes this encouragement feels like a swift kick in the pants (which I frequently need).
More importantly I now want to pass it on. If you are a writer, get going. Use your phone, a computer, a pen and paper, or even chalk on the sidewalk. Don’t let today pass without writing something, somewhere, somehow.
