Devotional Delights and Puzzles

Zondervan has produced a beautiful little hardback devotional that has an entry for each day of the year. One page in length, each centers around a theme loosely based on the idea of gratitude.  Each page for every day of the year is between two but not more than five paragraphs long headed by a scripture quote and reference.  A sentiment in summary which is often a response in prayer is included in italics at the bottom of each devotional thought.

I’ve found the material to be light in nature but not to the point of being trite or cliché. The color design is feminine and shape compact, with a bookmark ribbon built in. It has a warm encouraging tone and would make a suitable gift for anyone looking for a light scripturally based devotional.

I found it disappointing that no credit was given in any of the beginning credits and acknowledgements with the exception of the various versions of the scripture the quotes are taken from. There is not one name of any persons or persons whether collaborating or writing alone that have been given credit. I found this odd and somewhat high-handed on the publisher’s part. This keeps me from giving it a five star review.

I was given a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.
