Facing Things

Some mornings my coffee hits me squarely in the face with a bracing blow. Other days it slides in beside me like a firm “you can do it” hug.

Either way, we’re fast friends.

Today I’m aware that the person in the mirror is looking older. But this is a person I love. So I’m accepting this new look.

The alternative is rejecting reality. There’s a dark path. Rejoice in what is. As my mother quotes someone famous, ‘Whatever is, is right’.

Facing what is gives me courage. How about you?
